Falcon Garnett

Falcon S. Garnett, 72, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.

Private graveside services were Tuesday in Buffalo Gap Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Bush officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.

Mr. Garnett was born in Mount Sharp in Hays County and moved to Abilene in 1950. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Deborah Lynn Lorne in 1984 in Abilene.

Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; and two daughters, Jenna Garnett and Jessica Garnett, both of Abilene.

Eula Faye LeFevere

ANSON — Eula Faye LeFevere, 74, died Monday in Livingston.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Mount Hope Cemetery with Pete Lollar officiating, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.

Mrs. LeFevere was born in Anson and graduated from Anson High School. She was the widow of Arnem Reese LeFevere, whom she married in 1941. She moved to Tyler 30 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, Arnold LeFevere of Coleman and Edwin LeFevere of Livingston; two brothers, Omar Burleson of Lockney and Buddy Burleson of N.M.; one sister, Evelyn Thompson, of La.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Bill Eyley

RANGER — Bill Eyley, 82, died Monday at his residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Edwards Funeral Home with the Rev. Elizabeth Kugel officiating. Burial will be at Colony Cemetery.

Mr. Eyley was born in Thurber and graduated from Strawn High School. He married Josephine Marie Mavrinac on Oct. 6, 1940 in Albany. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a pilot. He worked at Anderson-Pruitt Chevrolet Dealership in Ranger, where he became manager, and as a mechanic for Lone Star Gas prior to his retirement in 1980. He also farmed and ranched. He was a member of FUMC in Ranger.

Survivors include his wife of Ranger; one daughter, JoAnn O’Daniel of Duncanville; one brother, Hershel Eyley of Whitehouse; and one grandchild.

Buford A. Linley

POSSUM KINGDOM LAKE — Buford A. Linley, 92, died Monday in a Fort Worth hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Mineral Wells with the Rev. Bill Hendricks officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mr. Linley was born in Chillicothe. He was the widower of Mildred Linley. He managed Safeway Stores in Fort Worth, Mineral Wells and Abilene for 40 years before his retirement in 1965. He was a member of the First Christian Church and Mineral Wells Lions Club.

Survivors include one daughter, JoAnn Dean of Hurst; one son, Don Linley of Ruidoso, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Eula Nadean Harris

HOUSTON — Eula Nadean Harris, 87, died Monday at her residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with the Rev. Kermit Sorrells officiating, directed by Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.

Mrs. Harris was born in Texas and graduated from Howard Payne. She taught school for over 43 years and for many years in Santa Anna. She was the widow of James A. Harris, whom she married in Coleman in 1935. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Santa Anna.

Survivors include one son, Jim Harris of Houston; one sister, Ivy Lee Souter of San Antonio; two brothers, Norris Calk of Coleman and Roy Calk of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

J. Paul Cook

SELDEN — J. Paul Cook, 58, died Monday in a Clifton hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Winslow officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Stephenville.

Mr. Cook was born in Ponca City, Okla. He married Annie Dow on Aug. 7, 1965, in Stephenville. He graduated from Stephenville High School and attended North Texas State University. He graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and later became associated with the family business, Cook Lumber Company. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of the Stephenville Masonic Lodge 267. He had lived most of his life in Erath County.

Survivors include his wife of Selden; one daughter, Carla Jo Cook of Decatur; one son, J. Paul Cook II of Decatur; his mother, Wauldene Cook of Stephenville; one sister, Joyce Cook of Stephenville; two grandchildren; and three nieces, all of Stephenville.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Stephenville Masonic Lodge 267.

John Edwin Ellis

John Edwin Ellis, 50, of Abilene, died Tuesday in a local hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 15, at the Aspermont Cemetery with the Rev. J.R. Williams officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Aspermont.

Mr. Ellis was born in Pecos and lived in Fort Stockton for several years before moving to Abilene.

Survivors include one sister, Gene Godfrey of Peacock; and three aunts.

Essie Estelle Blankenship

ROSCOE — Essie Estelle Blankenship, 95, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Roscoe First Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Willis officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater.

Mrs. Blankenship was born in Rosa, Ala. She had lived in Roscoe since 1919. She was the widow of William E. Blankenship, whom she married on Nov. 6, 1922, in Roscoe. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Roscoe First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two daughters, Essie Mae Bennight of Squim, Wash., and Ophlia Jo Tilley of Houston; one son, William A. “Dub” Blankenship of Abilene; three brothers, Charles Faust of Plains, Fletcher Faust of Longview, and A.B. Faust of Oneonta, Ala.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Esther Gray

BROWNWOOD — Esther Gray, 93, died Tuesday in a local hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with the Rev. Alan Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Gray was born in Mt. Pleasant and had been a Brownwood resident for the past 44 years. She was the widow of Jim M. Gray. She was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, LaVerne Coker of Early; three sons, Johnny Gray of Salado, and Charles Gray and Jessie Gray both of Bangs; stepson, Murrel Gray of Artesia, N.M.; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Don G. McClellan

BROWNWOOD — Don G. McClellan, 80, died Monday at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Eastlawn Memorial Park, directed by Davis-Morris Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Mr. McClellan was born on the family farm in Coleman County. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Ella Colleen Quigley on Feb. 5, 1951, in Hobbs, N.M. He was a farmer and rancher in Brown County, where he had lived since 1964. He was a member of the Gouldbusk Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of Brownwood; one daughter, Donna Gay Lewis of Blanket; two sons, Ross McClellan of San Angelo and Glenn Rex “Bo” McClellan of Beaumont; two brothers, Lester McClellan of Coleman and Pat N. McClellan of Goldsmith; two sisters, Jewel McMinn of Coleman and Bernelle Pittard of Austin; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Gloria Dennis

BROWNWOOD — Gloria Dennis, 68, formerly of Goldthwaite, died Monday in an Abilene hospital.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Capital Parks Cemetery in Austin, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mrs. Dennis was born in Refugio and had lived in Brownwood for the past 21 years. She was a retired librarian and a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, John Dee Dennis of Brownwood and William H. Dennis of Hickory, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

Margerite Denman

COLEMAN — Margerite Denman, 73, died Friday at her residence.

Memorial services were Tuesday at the Walker Funeral Home of Coleman with the Rev. Clarence Smith officiating. Burial was in the Coleman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Denman was born in Winchendon, Mass., and graduated from high school there.

There are no survivors.

Ruby R. Logan

SAN ANTONIO — Ruby R. Logan, 90, died Monday.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Willow Cemetery in Haskell, directed by Porter Loring Mortuary North of San Antonio.

Survivors include one daughter, Loraine Logan Muller of San Antonio; two sisters, Artie Price of McKinney and Mary Fowler of Cisco; one brother, George Robert of Haskell; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Antonio Joe Flores III, infant son of Blanca Franco and Antonio Joe Flores Jr., died Saturday in an Odessa hospital. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Trinity Memorial Park, directed by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Big Spring.

Jackie Marlon Byrd

COMANCHE — Jackie Marlon Byrd, 62, died Monday at his residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Rudie Carolyn Cox

DUBLIN — Rudie Carolyn Cox, 86, died Tuesday in a local nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, at the Harrell Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Dublin. Burial will be in Proctor Cemetery in Proctor.

W.W. ‘Buster’ Warren

GOLDTHWAITE — W.W. “Buster” Warren died Monday at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel in Goldthwaite. Burial will be in the Democrat Cemetery.

SNYDER — Lorna Ray Reed, 95, died Tuesday in a local hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 15, at the 37th Street Church of Christ with Bill Looney and Homer Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Memorial Cemetery, directed by Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home of Snyder.
