Jennie Rosetti

Jennie Rosetti, 90, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999 at a local nursing home.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elmwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park.

Mrs. Rosetti was born in Mays Landing, N.J., and she was a member of St. Vincent Palotti Catholic Church. Funeral services are being held on the 68th wedding anniversary of Jennie and Louis Rosetti.

Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; two sons, Louis R. Rosetti, Ronald J. Rosetti, both of Abilene; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Jerry Glen Childers

ALBANY— Jerry Glen Childers, 81, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999 at an Albany nursing home.

Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Friendship Baptist Church in Albany with Rev. Bruce Stovall officiating. Burial in Liberty Hill Cemetery, directed by Godfrey-Neese Funeral Home.

Mr. Childers was born in the Deep Creek Community. He married Inez Miller in 1936 in Albany; she preceded him in death. He was a retired barber, having owned shops in Midland and Odessa. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Midland.

Survivors include two sons, Don Childers of New Braunfels, Bill Childers of Magnolia; two sisters, Treby Fielder, Anna Lea Leech of Albany; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

Daisy Bell Kirby

Daisy Bell Kirby, 69, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999 at a local hospital. Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fairmont United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Bass officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Girdner-Brown Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kirby was born in Weinert on December 25, 1930. She graduated from school in Weinert and married Dalton Kirby in Haskell County in 1948. She moved to Abilene in 1959 and worked for Thorntons and Fair Park Elementary School for many years. She was a longtime member of Fairmont United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, of Abilene; one son, William “Willie” Kirby of Abilene; one sister, Nell Gillet of Abilene; one brother, Don Mansker of Vidor; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Frances Brite

Mary Frances Brite, 51, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999 at a local hospital.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, with Doug Bromley officiating. Burial in Clyde Cemetery.

Ms. Brite was born in Erwin, N.C. and moved to Abilene from Virginia in 1961. She was a 1966 graduate of Abilene High School and attended TSTI. She worked for The Bridge in Abilene and Lone Star Gas Company in Dallas, and was an insurance clerk at Hendrick Hospital. She was a member of South Side Baptist Church in Abilene.

Survivors include her mother, Kathleen Smith of Abilene; three aunts; one uncle; several cousins.

Velmer Louis ‘Willie’ Williams

BROWNWOOD— Velmer Louis “Willie” Williams, 74, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999 at a Kerrville hospital.

Services are at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel; the body was cremated.

Mr. Williams was a retired master plumber and had served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He had lived in Brownwood since 1988 and was a Baptist.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Stewart of Early, Paula Hamm of Brownwood, Janice Brown of Axtel; two brothers, Floyd Williams of Eastland, Lloyd Williams of Comanche; three sisters, Cleo Craig, Imogene Craig, both of Rogers, Ark., Lorene Richey of Comanche; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Elmer Haynes Jr.

BROWNWOOD— Elmer C. Haynes Jr., died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999 at a Brownwood hospital.

Graveside committal services will be held at a later date, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early. The body will be cremated.

Mr. Haynes was a lifetime resident of Brownwood. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a major. After his retirement he returned to Brownwood where he worked as a Pharmacy Tech for Peerless Drug Store. He was a member of the American Legion.

Memorials may be made to the Shrine Burn Hospital in Galveston.

Elizabeth Holmes

BROWNWOOD— Elizabeth Holmes, 44, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999 at a Brownwood hospital.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mercury Baptist Church with Chaplain Dick Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cowboy Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.

Mrs. Holmes was born in Brown County and was a retired L.V.N. She returned to Brownwood in 1989 moving from Killeen. She married Tony Holmes in 1989 in Brownwood and was a Mercury Baptist Church member.

Survivors include her husband, Tony Holmes of Brownwood; two daughters, Jessica Sparks, Jaclyn D. Tucker, both of Brownwood; mother, Bobbie Joann Ivy of Brownwood; one brother, George Dale Adams of Brownwood; one sister, Debby Shelton of Brownwood; numerous nieces and nephews.

Samuel Rogers Chisolm

CISCO— Samuel Rogers Chisolm, 75, died Dec. 25, 1999 in Stephenville.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mingus Baptist Church. Burial in Mt. Marion Cemetery in Strawn, directed by Edwards Funeral Home of Strawn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Chisolm.

Survivors include one son, Ron Chisolm of Mingus; two daughters, Diane King, Linda Yancey, both of Plflugerville; three sisters, Neva Shinn of Stephenville, Mrs. Jean Bishop of Decatur, Mrs. Billie Felts of Dublin; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Sara Ann Parmer

CISCO— Sara Ann Parmer, 92, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999 at a local hospital. Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chambers-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel, burial in Oakwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Parmer was born in Hinsdale, Ill. She graduated from Hendrick School of Nursing in 1928. She married Melvin M. “Doc” Parmer in 1929 in Abilene; he preceded her in death. They made their home in Cisco and she was a Registered Nurse in and around Cisco. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Eastern Star, holding numerous officer positions.

Survivors include one son, Will Parmer of Dallas; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Jackson East

FORT WORTH— Jackson East, 90, of Fort Worth and formerly of Spur and Jayton, died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999 in Fort Worth.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Spur Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Larry Burton officiating, directed by Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

Mr. East was born in Birmingham, Ala. and lived most of his life in the Spur and Jayton area. He married Lena Snodgrass in 1932 in Dickens; she preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, where he received the purple heart and bronze star. He was a salesman for Rickels Motor Co. in Spur and Hall’s Chevrolet in Jayton for 18 years. He was a member of the local VFW and the Methodist Church, where he was song director and a member of the Men’s Round-Up Class.

Survivors include one son, Jack East of Brownwood; a half brother, Woody Grice of Dumas; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Pauline Harlan Beecher

GOREE— Pauline Harlan Beecher, 85, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999 at a Munday nursing center.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Goree with Rev. Don Travis officiating. Burial in Goree Cemetery, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home, Inc.

Mrs. Beecher was born in Goree and was a lifetime resident there. She was a homemaker and a member of Goree First United Methodist Church. She married Pete Beecher in 1934; he preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Greenwood of Goree, Nell Haskin of Lipan, Gayle Hudson of Goree; eight grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.

Mack McGough

KILGORE— Mack E. McGough, 79, of Longview, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999 in Longview.

Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery.

Mr. McGough was born in Strawn. He was a retired service station manager and attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Liberty City. He was the widower of Helon McGough.

Survivors include one daughter, Connie Henry of Ranger; three sons, Ronnie McGough of Huntington, Donnie McGough, Lonnie McGough, both of Longview; one sister Marie Lobstein of Dublin; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ottilie Wisian

SPRINGLAKE— Ottilie Wisian, 94, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999 at Farwell.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Henry Stone officiating. Burial in Muleshoe Park, directed by Ellis Funeral Homes.

Mrs. Wisian was born in Travis County. She married Hilbert Wisian in Neiderwald in 1927; he preceded her in death. She worked for many years as an Avon representative and was a member of Earth United Methodist Church in Earth.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph Wisian of Amarillo, Hilbert Wisian of Muleshoe; one daughter, Kathleen Hawkins Blackstock of Abilene; one sister, Irma Schaefer of Houston; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren
