Destruction derby to be
held Saturday at Abilene Speedway
By Al Pickett
There will be plenty of crashes Saturday
night at Abilene Speedway, but at least this time they will be
planned.
A destruction derby will be held Saturday
night with a $750 prize for the winner. Abilene Speedway owner
Tommy Simons has also entered a car in the destruction derby.
Any money Simons wins will be donated to Kip Frazier to help with
expenses accumulated when he was hit by a car recently. Donations
will also be taken during intermission for Frazier.
In addition to the destruction derby, Abilene
Speedway will have a full night of racing action, including I.M.C.A.
Modifieds, Limited Late Models, Super Stocks, Mini Modifieds,
Mini Sprints and Pure Stocks.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and races start at
8 p.m. General admission is $8 for adults and $3 for children
ages 6-12. For more information, call 692-8800 or 698-4029.
