Angelo State Relays
TexAnns take third, Texans fourth

SAN ANGELO — Tarleton State led local teams at the Angelo State Relays held in San Angelo Thursday through Saturday.

The Tarleton women finished in third place and the men in fourth. The McMurry women finished in 11th place and its men finished in sixth. The Abilene Christian University women finished in 13th, and the ACU men claimed the No. 8 spot.

McMurry saw several athletes qualify for the national track meet in Naperville, Ill. at the relays.

Talitha Belcher earned an automatic qualifying mark in the 400, 200 and 100. The men’s 400 relay team also received an automatic qualification.

Qualifying provisionally for McMurry was the women’s 400-meter relay team.

McMurry and other American Southwest Conference teams will have another chance to qualify for the national meet Friday at the conference track meet hosted by McMurry.
