Woods helps jumpstart ACU track season

LUBBOCK — Terrance Woods paced the Abilene Christian University track and field team as it kicked off the track season at the Texas Tech Invitational at the Athletic Training Center. Woods led the Wildcats with two of ACU’s seven first-place finishes, while McMurry University earned one of its own.

For ACU, it was the first meet against former head coach Wes Kittley, who took over as head coach for Texas Tech in July.

McMurry also had a strong showing in Lubbock, with one top finisher, two seconds and two thirds. Pole vaulter Brad Parris was the only first place athlete for McMurry, while Jon Rhiddlehoover finished fourth in the shot, and third in the weight throw for the Indians.
