Mrs. Parker was born
on April 17, 1927 in Fisher County, Texas. She married Dwalyn
Parker Sr. in Roby, Texas in 1950. She was a member of Roby First
Baptist Church. Mrs. Parker worked for Simmons Hospital as a Registered
Nurse for many years before retiring. After retirement, she was
an Avon Representative for over 25 years.

Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Dwalyn Parker, Jr and
Williadean Parker of Kermit, Texas; four grandchildren, Lee Gosling
and Matthew Gosling both of Plano, Jennifer Sosebee of Big Spring,
Texas, and John Parker of Balch Springs, Texas; two sisters, Orlena
Lay of Hermleigh, Texas, and Natalie Gribbins of Flower Mound,
Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded
in death by her husband, Dwalyn Parker Sr. on August 18, 1989,
and one brother, Bill Morris.

Warren Ellerd, 63, of Mabank and formally of Abilene and Longview
were held Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Welch Funeral Home in Longview.
Burial was at Grace Hill Cemetery in Longview, Texas. Mr. Ellerd
died Saturday, July 20, 2002 at a hospital in Tyler, Texas after

D.C. Ellerd and Vera Fisher Miller preceded him in death.
Mr. Ellerd was retired
from the U.S. Military Services after having served in both the
Navy and the Air Force and was a Vietnam Vet. He had also been
employed with Central Phone Systems, Texas Instruments, owner
of Abilene Game and Hobby, and Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
He is survived by
his wife, Nelda of Mabank, his "Mom" Annie Blanche Turnipseed
of Longview; one son, David Ellerd and his wife, Shelley of Corpus
Christi; two daughters, Sherry Pritchard, and Charlotte Bruns
and her husband, Roger of Abilene; four grandchildren, Quinn and
Lula Ellerd of Corpus Christi, James Bruns and his wife, Nicole
of Abilene, and Brian Bruns of Abilene; and eight great-grandchildren.

during WWII and retired from Southwest Portland Cement in Odessa.
He married Jimmie Hogan on October 20, 1967 in Monahans and was
a member of the Baptist Church.

74, of Abilene, died Thursday, August 1, 2002, at a local hospital.

Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd St. Her body is being donated
to the Texas Tech School of Medicine.
Mrs. Lawrence was
born in San Antonio, Texas on November 16, 1927, to the late Van
Henry and Evelyn Mae Thomas Arnold. She was a teacher and taught
school in the Abilene, San Antonio, and Floresville Independent
School Districts. She also taught in New Jersey as a special education
teacher and was a member of many teacher organizations, including
the NEA, TSTA, the local TRTA, and ARTA. In 1969, she moved to
Abilene and was a member of the Church of Christ.

of Rio Grande, OH; one daughter, Rebecca L. Jordan of Abilene;

Funeral services for Terry Sue Sawyer of Elmore City, Oklahoma
were held Friday, July 26, 2002 in the Elmore City First Baptist

was born in Rochester, Texas to Terry and Gertrude Roberson. She
relocated to Elmore City, Oklahoma in 1967. She worked as a nurse
at the Wynnewood and Pauls Valley Hospitals, owned and operated
a service station and an auto shop in Elmore City, and worked
in several positions for the City of Elmore until her retirement.
She spent her retirement
enjoying her family, her church, her community, and especially

23, 2002 in the Norman Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jud Henry
and W.R. "Dick" Roberson; and her husband, Dwight Griffin.
Following the death
of her husband, she married Frankie Sawyer with whom she spent
the remaining years of her life.
She is survived by
her husband, Frankie Sawyer; her brother and sister-in-law, Beverly
O. and Billyjo Roberson of Haskell, TX; her daughters and sons-in-law,
Virginia and Teddy Turnbull and Jane and Stanley Ellis; her grandchildren,
Cecil Lee Lampe, Charles Lampe, Terry Jo Ellis and Ella Courtney;
and eight great- grandchildren.
Her extended family
includes her mother-in-law, Norma Sawyer; brother and sisters-in-law,
Larry and Sandy Sawyer and Patsy and Jerry Pyle; and numbers of
nieces and nephews.
She was loved by
