Willey named Dallas Morning News editorial page editor
By the Associated Press
DALLAS (AP) - Keven Ann Willey has been named editorial page editor of The Dallas Morning News,
replacing Rena Pederson, who will take on the new role of editor-at-large.
Willey joined the staff of The Arizona Republic in 1980 and eventually became the paper's chief
political writer. She has covered eight national political conventions. Willey joined the editorial board in
1993, was named editorial page editor in 1998 and then took a place on the paper's operating
committee in 1999. Before joining The Republic, she was a reporter with The Associated Press.
Willey has won many awards for her column and editorial writing. In 2001, she was a Hoover Fellow at
Stanford.
Willey graduated magna cum laude from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, where she also was
a varsity volleyball player.
The appointment is effective Nov. 20.
The Morning News previously announced that Pederson in her role as editor-at-large would continue to
serve as vice president/editorial page editor, would write a Sunday column and work on in-depth
stories.
