Wrestler drops divorce proceedings
SAN ANTONIO (AP) - The pro wrestling star known as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, facing a
misdemeanor charge that he assaulted his wife earlier this year, has dropped divorce proceedings.
The San Antonio resident had filed for divorce from Debra Gale Williams in July in an attempt to end
their two-year marriage.
A Bexar County court last week dismissed the divorce case, stating that the wrestler, whose real
name is Steve Williams, no longer wished to pursue it.
The 37-year-old wrestler is charged with assault causing bodily injury stemming from a June 15
domestic disturbance at the couple's Northwest Side home.
His wife, also a wrestling personality, accused Austin of hitting her several times after an argument. No
trial date has been set in the assault case.
