Cloudy weather on tap for Texas

Cloudy skies were forecast for most parts of Texas on Monday with temperatures ranging from the low 80s to 90s.

West Texas was expected to have mostly cloudy skies and a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures were to reach the 70s. More rain was expected Tuesday along with cooler temperatures in the 60s.

North Texas was to be partly cloudy with highs in lower 80s. A southeast wind at 5 mph to 10 mph also was expected. Similar weather was forecast for Tuesday.

The South Plains region was to be mostly cloudy. A chance of thunderstorms was expected in the north and slight chance in the south. High temperatures were to range from 73 to 86. Tuesday was to be partly cloudy with more showers.

Mostly clear skies were forecast for South Texas with highs in the 80s. Low temperatures were to be 55 in the north and 65 in the south. Clouds were expected to roll in Tuesday with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.

On Sunday, fair skies were located in north and northeast Texas.

South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley saw partly cloudy skies and the Texas Panhandle saw mostly cloudy to partly cloudy conditions.

Temperatures around the state ranged from a low of 68 in Perryton to a high of 91 in McAllen.
