Fall temperatures will predominate this week across the state. Northern West Texas should see
some storms today and Tuesday. North Texas may see some rain on Tuesday. The rest of the state
should be dry this week.
The lower Gulf will see windy conditions and higher tides than normal this week.
A system may bring rain this weekend, especially in the north.
Temperatures Sunday ranged from a high of 91 degrees at McAllen to an overnight low of 51
Longview and Wichita Falls. No significant rainfall was recorded.
The West Texas forecast calls for partly to mostly cloudy skies all week. Highs this week will be in
the 60s and 70s in the Panhandle, and 70s and 80s in the South Plains. The next few days will be
hot in the west, around 90 or higher, but will cool to the 80s on Wednesday and remain there
through the week. The only rain in the forecast this week will be in the north, with good chances of
some storms through Tuesday, and slight chances for the rest of the week. The Permian Basin may
see a few storms today.
In South Texas, fair weather is forecast this week: clear to partly cloudy skies and highs in the 80s.
Rain should be nonexistent this week across the region. However, the lower Texas coast will see
higher than normal tides for the next few days and some dangerous surf. Small craft advisories will
likely be issued there through Friday.
North Texas will see good weather this week. Highs will be in the 70s to mid 80s today and
Tuesday. Highs will be in the 70s Wednesday through Friday. Slight chances of rain are in the
forecast today and Tuesday, with best chances in far North Texas. Beginning Friday, more rain
chances are forecast regionwide, but overall chances should remain slight. Skies will be partly to
mostly cloudy this week.
