Aspermont 53, Crowell 6

ASPERMONT -- Zach Hunter and Steven Ellis each rushed for 100 yards or more in leading the undefeated Aspermont Hornets to a 53-6 stomping of Crowell in District 9-A here Friday.

Hunter carried 11 times for 104 yards and scored on runs of one and 15 yards. He also had an 80-yard kickoff return for another TD.

Ellis got an even 100 yards on only five totes, scoring the last TD on a 76-yard romp with 9:41 left in the game.

Jodey Clark had a 25-yard TD sandwiched between Hunter's rushing TDs as the Hornets raced to a 21-0 lead in the first 10 minutes.

Crowell got its only TD on a one-yard run by David Silva, but Hunter got it right back on the ensuing kickoff. Josh Hale threw a 34-yard TD pass to J. Clark just before intermission for a 34-6 lead.

Hale had a three-yard TD run and Pidi Castenada had a 37-yarder in the third period, then Ellis slammed the door with the 76-yard scoring run early in the last quarter.

Aspermont is now 8-0 for the year, while Crowell is just the opposite, 0-8.
