Clyde 36, Grape Creek 20

CLYDE -- Beau Holland scored three touchdowns and Doug Johnson two including a long punt return as Clyde outscored Grape Creek 36-20 here Friday night.

The win boosts Clyde's record to 3-5 and gave the Bulldogs their first District 6-3A win. Grape Creek is 2-6 overall and winless in its three league games.

Two third quarter touchdowns by Clyde finally did in Grape Creek, which trailed just 20-12 at halftime. Ramir Camarillo bolted 54 yards for a touchdown with 54 seconds left in the first half to bring the Eagles within eight points.

But Holland scored his third touchdown on an 8-yard run and Johnson ran back a punt 61 yards, both scores coming less then two minutes apart, to break open the game.

Holland ran 14 and 6 yards for first-half scores on his way to 160 yards rushing on 26 carries. Johnson dove a yard for the game's first points for Clyde.

Josh Timms tossed two TD passes for Grape Creek along with a two-point conversion.

Clyde had 360 total yards to 160 for Grape Creek.
