Coleman 35, Early 15

EARLY -- Early's playoff aspirations took a big hit Friday night as Coleman scored the game's last three touchdown to upset the Longhorns 35-15.

Early now is 5-3 overall and slips to 3-2 in District 25-2A with its second straight loss. Coleman evens its record at 4-4 and also is 3-2 in district.

The teams were tied 15-15 at halftime before Jamaine Robinson scored his second touchdown and what proved to be the game-winner on a 3-yard run with 4:19 left in the third quarter.

The Bluecats added two more touchdowns in the final quarter on Jeremy Smith's second score and a final touchdown by Robinson, who rushed 38 times for 217 yards. Smith had 19 carries for 145 yards as Coleman compiled a whopping 442 total on the ground.

Coleman scored first in the game on Smith's 10 yard run. Early answered on the first of two TD passes by Cole Doss, who hit 10 of 18 throws for 148 yards. He also passed 21 yards to Tony Duncan after Robinson scored for the first time.

The Bluecats had 473 yards to just 202 for Early.
