Odessa High 37, El Paso Socorro 0

ODESSA -- Odessa High jumped to a 31-0 halftime lead and cruised to a 37-0 win over El Paso Socorro Friday night in the season opener for both teams.

Juan Gonzales scored on a six-yard run and Rick Leach sprinted to the end zone on a 50-yard burst to stake the Bronchos to a 14-0 lead after one quarter.

Leach then threw a 24-yards touchdown pass to Josh Ashley and Victor Hernandez added another TD ona 44-yard interception return. In between, the Bronchos added a 36-yard field goal.

The only scoring in the second half was ona 22-yard Leach-to-Ashley pass.
