Odessa Permian 52, El Paso Irvin 13

ODESSA -- Odessa Permian roared to a 35-0 halftime lead and was never challenged in a 52-13 win over El Paso Irvin Friday night at Ratliff Stadium.

Koefie Powell rushed 10 times for 180 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Panthers to the lopsided victory. He scored on runs of 3, 76 and 80 yards to power a Permian offense that rolled up 604 total yards.

Permian quarterback Leland Morris completed 9 of 12 passes for 261 yards and four touchdowns. Permian's first three scores came on passes from Morris to Roy Williams, covering 9, 32 and 66 yards.

Irvin could manage just one touchdown in the third and fourth quarters.
