Ranger 34, Rising Star 6

RANGER - John Rutledge and Jose Martinez each scored twice as Ranger hammered Rising Star 34-6 to open District 14-A play.

Ranger held a slim 7-6 lead before blowing the game open in the second quarter. Martinez started the uprising with a 28-yard TD run. Eight minutes later, Rutledge scored on a 1-yard run to give Ranger a 21-6 lead.

Sonny Ainsworth capped Ranger's big second quarter by returning an interception 47 yards for a touchdown just 18 seconds after Rutledge's touchdown.

Martinez finished the night with 183 yards on 23 carries to pace Ranger's offense.
