Rotan 38, Cross Plains 16

ROTAN - Rotan scored 24 first-half points and cruised the rest of the way to a 38-16 win over Cross Plains to maintain its unbeaten record.

Guy Duke got Rotan, 4-0, on the board less than four minutes into the first quarter when he scored on a 44-yard run. Less than two minutes later, Rotan's lead grew to 10-0 when it scored on a safety.

Cross Plains, 0-4, rallied to tie the score, 10-10, on a 30-yard field goal by Benji Switzer and a 47-yard fumble return by Jaime Mauricio.

However, Rotan struck twice in the final six minutes to take a 24-10 halftime lead. Murphree had a hand in both touchdowns as he scored on a 54-yard run and tossed a 29-yard TD to Brandon Carreon.

Murphree scored his second touchdown of the night on a 15-yard run with three seconds left in the third quarter. He finished the night with 154 yards rushing on 15 carries.
