Stephenville 63, Joshua 0

STEPHENVILLE -- Zac Hunter scored twice and rushed for 152 yards while Keln Luker passed for 292 yards and three touchdowns as Stephenville overpowered Joshua 63-0 here Friday night.

The Yellow Jackets now are 7-1 over and 4-1, good for second place in District 6-4A play. Joshua is winless in all eight games this year.

Hunter ran 60 and 23 yards for touchdowns as Stephenville gained 282 yards as a team.

Luker passed 81 and 75 yards for TDs to Cody Cardwell, who caught six throws for 221 yards. Luker's other TD pass was 16 yards to K.C. Steed.

As a team Stephenville piled up 584 total yards. Defensively, the Yellow Jackets held Joshua to 74 yards and four first downs.

Matt Tinklenberg scored a touchdown and ran in a two-point conversion for Stephenville, which scored 35 points in the second quarter alone to take a 49-0 halftime lead.

Kendall Briles, coach Art Briles' son, scored the last of those five second-quarter touchdowns on a 9-yard run.
