Winters 34, Hamilton 10

HAMILTON -- Kerry Whittenburg led his No. 3 state-ranked team by land and by air here Friday night.

Whittenburg rushed for two touchdowns in between throwing for three touchdowns, accounting for all his team's scoring in Winters' 34-10 win over Hamilton.

The unbeaten Blizzards now are 8-0 and 5-0 in District 25-2A play. Hamilton is 1-6 and 1-3.

Whittenburg ran 1 and 4 yards for TDs on his way to 78 of his team's 182 rushing yards. He hit 7 of 17 passes for 127 yards and three scores -- 19 yards to Jeremy Alvardo for the game's first score and then a pair of four-quarter strikes to Josh Mizenmayer.

Hamilton trailed just 13-10 at halftime when Mark Flores booted a 25-yard field goal with 2:41 to go.

Wes Calcote had 77 yards rushing for Winters, which had 309 total yards to 148 for Hamilton.
