An emotional Bill Tittle had so difficult a time holding back
the tears Monday that he could barely present San Angelo Central
with the District 4-5A boys golf championship trophy. That was
because he had just given his team, the Abilene High Eagles, the
runner-up award after the head coach saw his team record an incredible
final round score of 291 at Abilene Country Club.
