before lightning in the area could interfere with the contest,
but the Jacksboro Tigers were already crispy critters - burned

and allowed only three hits in a 10-0 victory over the Tigers
Friday night at Hunter Field.

Abilene hockey coach sees a dream come true: Anything is possible in Texas. Don't believe it?
Well, just ask Jeff Triano. Triano came to Texas for the first
time two years ago with the dream of becoming a hockey coach.
Now, two years later, that dream became a reality when he was
named Thursday as the head coach of the Aviators, Abilene's new
team in the Western Professional Hockey League.

didn't last long, but a medical condition helped spoil his first
impression at the professional level. Perini, an outfielder who
was a sixth-round draft pick out of high school from Carlsbad,
N.M., had to have kidney surgery in February 1997 and was released
by the Red Sox early this spring.

he has replaced head coach Jim Mavroulis with former Cooper standout
Scotty Pugh.
