Top high school football performances

Several 300-yard runners, some super all-around efforts and a couple of reliable kickers highlight this week's Associated Press honor roll.

Here are the outstanding performers:

ALL-AROUND EFFORTS

-O.J. McClintock ran for 147 yards and two touchdowns, passed for 180 yards and three touchdowns, and caught a 91-yard touchdown pass in Round Rock Westwood's 54-0 victory over Austin High.

-Billy Bouse ran 12 times for 107 yards and three touchdowns, was 12-of-19 passing for 97 yards and a touchdown, ran for two two-point conversions and threw for one as High Island beat Carlisle 38-26.

-Roger Surita ran 20 times for 148 yards and a touchdown, and caught eight passes for 147 yards and three touchdowns in Eagle Pass' 31-30 victory over Laredo Cigarroa.

-Flee Montemayor ran for 214 yards and two touchdowns, made all three of his team's extra points and had a 59-yard punt to the Nueces Canyon 4-yard line that set up a sack on the next play as Florence won 23-7.

-Justin Parsons returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, had a 10-yard touchdown run and returned an interception 90 yards for another score in a 41-30 victory over Fort Bend Clements to make Rosenberg Terry 4-0 for the first time in school history.

-Justin Hagh ran 19 times for 207 yards and a touchdown, caught four passes for 141 yards and a touchdown, had nine solo tackles and five assists, and intercepted a pass, but Class 2A Cisco still lost 48-12 to 3A's top-ranked Breckenridge.

-Chaffin Smith threw a 25-yard yard touchdown pass, kicked the game-winning 28-yard field goal as time expired and recorded eight tackles in Harmony's 23-20 victory over Winona.

-Just two days after hand surgery, Chavis McCollister rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown, recorded 15 tackles and intercepted a pass in the end zone as Tenaha beat San Augustine 21-6.

-Dustin Williams caught two touchdown passes and ran for two in Wylie's 34-7 victory over Big Spring.

ON THE GROUND

-Chris Harris ran 30 times for 347 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning 36-yarder in overtime, as Elysian Field beat Palestine Westwood 27-24.

-Michael Betts of Wortham ran 29 times for 333 yards and five touchdowns.

-Sneezy Beltran ran for 328 yards, 20 short of his District 4-5A record, and two touchdowns as Abilene beat San Angelo Central 28-15.

-Anthony Chambers ran for 268 yards in Liberty's 40-22 loss to Hamshire-Fannett.

-Jimmy Williams, out all week with the flu, ran just five times but gained 130 yards and scored touchdowns of 69, 41 and three yards in Beaumont Central's 45-12 victory over Houston Furr.

-Vontez Duff set a school record with five touchdowns, running 20 times for 175 yards in just two and a half quarters as Copperas Cove beat Georgetown 53-9. Duff also threw a 32-yard touchdown pass.

-On 13 carries, Chris Nelms of Teague gained 252 yards and scored four touchdowns.

-On 10 carries, Justin Lane of Hico had 210 yards and three touchdowns.

-Keitrick McCoy ran 28 times for 252 yards and three touchdowns as Harelton beat Gorman 27-24.

-Chance Cleveland had 224 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries as Early beat San Saba 26-6.

-Glenn Donaldson had 188 yards and three touchdowns, including a 2-yarder with 1:21 left that gave Dallas Wilson a 20-19 victory over Dallas Madison.

-Kenny Hayter ran 29 times for 247 yards and two touchdowns as Cypress Falls beat Cypress Creek 37-13.

-Bryan Miller ran 25 times for 272 yards and four touchdowns for Mabank against Forney.

-Derrick Arnold ran 35 times for 212 yards and four touchdowns as Houston Milby beat Houston Davis 35-33.

-Ryan Fromme ran 31 times for 251 yards, including a 73-yarder, in Elgin's 14-7 victory over Lake Travis.

-Chad Proske ran 26 times for 221 yards and two touchdowns, including a 90-yarder, as Giddings topped Cameron 17-7 in a battle of unbeatens.

THROUGH THE AIR

-Chad Foster was just 13-of-27, but it went for 305 yards and three touchdowns, including a 26-yard touchdown pass with 27 seconds left that gave Eagle Pass a 31-30 victory over Laredo Cigarroa.

-Erin Hill caught nine passes for 136 yards and a touchdown in Lumberton's 37-27 loss to Beaumont Kelly.

-Danny Williams caught nine passes for 129 yards in Killeen Ellison's 14-10 loss to Marshall.

-Guy Tomcheck was 21-of-30 for 287 and three touchdowns in Colleyville Heritage's 34-6 victory over Denton Ryan.

-Kelan Luker was 10-of-18 for 278 yards and three touchdown, all to Cody Cardwell, who also ran for another score, as Stephenville beat Everman 50-6.

-Joey Jurenka completed 17-of-25 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for a touchdown, but Longview Spring Hill lost 39-25 to Bullard.

-Dustin Taylor of Wills Point had four catches for 179 yards and three touchdowns against Crandall.

-Kenny Whittenburg threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns, including one in the last minute to give Winters a 20-13 victory over Goldthwaite.

-Randy Jones of Bremond completed 9-of-10 passes for 221 yards and three touchdowns.

-Cole Egger was 13-of-20 for 277 yards and five touchdowns, three to Kenny West, in Jim Ned's 48-14 victory over Wall.

-Justin Hill threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns in Colorado City's 45-7 victory over Clyde.

-Tim Austin of Little Elm caught five passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns against Callisburg.

DEFENSE

-Matt McCollum recovered three fumbles and blocked two kicks in Eastland's 32-6 victory over Merkel. Three of the turnovers led to touchdowns. He also had three solo tackles and an assist and he broke up a pass.

-Eddie Hyer had an interception and a fumble recovery, caused a fumble, broke up a pass, was in on seven tackles and returned a punt 90 yards for a touchdown in Abilene's 29-15 victory over San Angelo Central.

-Randy McGinn had 15 tackles and three sacks and Ervin Louther had 21 tackles and a sack in Rising Star's 34-6 loss to Ranger.

-Darrion Branch had 16 tackles - 10 solo - and three sacks and forced three fumbles as Dallas Carter beat Dallas Skyline 32-6.

-John White made 17 tackles, 10 of them solo, intercepted a pass and deflected another in South Grand Prairie's 21-18 loss to Lewisville.

-Daniel Cano forced a fumble and had 17 tackles, including seven solos, a sack and an interception as Austin Travis beat Austin Johnston 35-21.

-Jacob McCullough had 11 solo tackles, five behind the line, and four assists as Early beat San Saba 26-6.

-Charles Brewer blocked two punts and made seven tackles in Fort Worth Eastern Hills' 17-6 victory over Fort Worth Dunbar.

-Tony Love made 13 tackles, intercepted two passes - returning one 47 yards for a touchdown - and broke up three other passes as Denon beat Red Oak 41-7.

-John Carreker made 22 tackles and forced a fumble for Wills Point against Crandall.

-Tyler Davis of Richland had 23 tackles, 15 of them solo and five for losses, against Irving MacArthur.

-Chris Zachary made nine tackles and intercepted three passes for Frisco against Whitesboro.

-Reagan Victor of Moody had four interceptions and made 14 tackles.

-Ricky Fabianke intercepted four passes, recovered a fumble and made five tackles for Bosqueville.

SPECIAL TEAMS

-Adam Thornton made field goals of 37, 41, 44 and 19 yards, including the game-winner with 56 seconds left, as Hurst Bell beat Irving Nimitz 18-15.

-Dan Walker kicked field goals of 52, 53, 42 and 38 yards, and had only one returnable kickoff in Austin Westlake's 37-31 loss to Converse Judson.

-Peter Simon returned the game-opening kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown as Beaumont Kelly beat Lumberton 37-27.
