Drew goes on seven-day disabled list

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - The $7 million man is going on the seven-day disabled list.

Outfielder J.D. Drew twisted his right knee during warmup before Wednesday night's Arkansas Travelers' game against the San Antonio Missions, General Manager Bill Valentine said Thursday.

Drew should rejoin the Travelers' lineup when the team returns to Little Rock on July 30 to host Shreveport, Valentine said.

Drew signed a four-year contract with St. Louis worth $7 million guaranteed and possibly as much as $8.5 million. The Cardinals drafted him in the first round a year after Drew held out after being picked in the first round by Philadelphia.
