Newspaper: Calvin Hill returning to Cowboys'
front office
WASHINGTON (AP) - Calvin Hill, a former Dallas Cowboys running
back, is rejoining the team as a front office consultant to help
advise players, The Washington Post reported Friday.
The newspaper said Hill, 50, the father of Detroit Pistons
star Grant Hill, will have a wide range of responsibilities, including
the creation of a program to counsel and assist players.
Hill, a former vice president of administrative affairs for
the Baltimore Orioles, has joined recent attempts to put together
groups to buy the Washington Bullets and bring a baseball team
to northern Virginia.
Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple would not confirm the report,
saying the team was talking to several people, including Hill,
about front-office positions. He would not name them.
"For the past two months, (team owner) Jerry Jones has
had conversations with several individuals about various aspects
of our organization. Because of his background with the Cowboys,
and in professional sports in general, Calvin Hill is one of those
individuals," Dalrymple said Friday.
