To Our Daddy:
It seems we never really count
our blessings enough in life to make us appreciate what we have
until it's too late. Maybe we are too busy with daily routines
to notice the joys. With our dad's passing we have taken some
time to reflect on some of the joys and greatest memories.
It doesn't seem possible that
life does pass so quickly until you look up one day and all you
have are sweet memories of someone you love.
Our dad was an inspiration to
us. Dad worked hard at his job and always tried to instill upon
us how important it was to do the best job we could for the boss
and company in which you worked. As a Dad he was one of the best.
Dad was stern but fair when teaching us to accept responsibility
and to always treat someone the way you wanted to be treated
... to love your husband or wife and build a bond between each
other to last a lifetime. As a husband he taught us to live,
learn, and enjoy each other in all types of trials you are met
with ... to grow together and to work together to provide happiness
in the home ... to set morals for his children so that they might
become good adults and know right from wrong. Dad showed us that
to work together with mom at home or anywhere they might be,
was a tremendous joy to him and one he truly treasured.
One of Dad's greatest pleasures
was his seven grandsons. To see the light in his eyes when they
were around was a wonderful sight. From motorcycles to three-wheelers
to jet skis -- it didn't matter what the family was involved
in, he enjoyed it all ... as long as those grandsons were with
him.
The one thing Dad said when he
was sick was "I hope I've been a good Dad." Well, Dad,
as we told you then and probably should have told you more often:
"You were the best."
Thanks, Dad, for all the happy
times. Thank you for the love you showed us and for having that
shoulder to cry on when we needed it. Thanks, Dad, for just being
you.
And, Dad, thank you for the memories.
We'll miss you.
Love,
Rickey, Vicki and Sherri

I sure hope you see this. I
have been trying to find you and Vickie for years. First of
all, I know it is late in coming but my deepest sympathy on the
loss of your Daddy. I have been trying to find you, for one
thing because I would have liked to have stayed in touch with
you, but also I had wanted to let you know that Charlie passed
away in 1995. I have always felt that you guys would want to
know. I sure hope you see this. Please e-mail me if you do.
Lots of Love to your family....Sheryl
