Hall in comfort zone with
Wylie offense
By MARK WILSON / Staff Writer
Brady Hall is comfortable running the Wylie offense, and it
shows.
The Wylie senior has already passed for 1,508 yards while helping
lead the Bulldogs to a 10-0 regular-season mark and into the Class
3A football playoffs. Wylie, the District 6-3A champion, will
take on District 5-3A runner-up Iowa Park in the bi-district round
of the playoffs at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Clark Field in Fort Worth.
Hall has completed 56 percent of his 186 passes with 16 touchdowns
and only eight interceptions.
Hall has made a smooth transition from being the junior varsity
quarterback to leading the Bulldogs to a perfect regular season,
but he had his doubts in the beginning.
"I'm pleased with the way I've been performing, but coming
into this year I wasn't real sure about what kind of job we'd
do," Hall said.
He said his biggest improvement when he moved up to the varsity
was in the way he handles game pressure.
"I'm more relaxed during game situations, and I'm more
familiar with the offense," Hall said. "I feel like
I've gotten a little stronger, but mainly just being more familiar
with the offense is what's helped out this year.
"I feel like I'm more calm now. On the JV I would feel
real nervous and tense up. This year I feel like everything is
going smooth, and I', more comfortable with what's going on."
Wylie head coach Hugh Sandifer has been impressed with the
way Hall seems to continue to improve.
"Brady has done an excellent job," Sandifer said.
"As the starting quarterback, the biggest thing he's shown
is steady improvement. With that improvement, he has developed
more confidence every game."
