Texas Tech names assistant basketball coach
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Texas Tech has promoted James Rike to
serve as an assistant men's basketball coach.
Rike, who held an administra- tive job with the team last school
year, replaces Will Flemons. Fle- mons joined the staff at the
All Saints Episcopal School in Lub- bock last spring.
Rike was a student-assistant during the 1995-96 season. He
played 11 games for the 1995 Southwest Conference champion- ship
team.
Rike played two seasons at Clarendon College and one at Eastern
New Mexico State be- fore transferring to Tech. He was an all-state
player at Haskell. Send
